Direct pressure-assisted sintering of complex powder structures

The Schaeffler Aerosint "Die Filling Platform" is an inexpensive introduction to multi-materials and makes it possible to precisely deposit powder into a mold with an inner diameter of up to 100 mm / 4 inches. The innovation of our machine: The binder-free production technology makes it possible to combine several materials into a multi-material composite. Metal powder, ceramic powder and their combination can be used for this purpose. This means that up to three different materials can be used simultaneously in each layer to create completely new product designs with customized material properties in industrial quality.
The powder placement is determined with pixel precision by a digital design created by the user in advance. Once the file has been transferred to the machine's control software, the powder is precisely built up into a three-dimensional powder body. In a further, separate process step, the powder body can then be heat-treated at high temperature using any sintering process (HIP, SPS, conventional).
As with our OmniFusion 3D (LPBF process), the heart of the "Die Filling Platform" is the so-called Recoater, the device for depositing the various powders on the powder bed.
