Developing Revolutionary Machine Systems: The Shift to Multi-Material 3D Printing
The merger of Schaeffler Special Machinery and Schaeffler Aerosint marks a milestone in the field of additive manufacturing. With the integration of Aerosint as an additional site of Schaeffler Special Machinery, over 70 years of experience in industrial automation are combined with innovative multi-material 3D printing technology.
Our OmniFusion 3D system utilizes Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF) to produce metal-ceramic composites with up to three materials simultaneously. An advanced recoater enables precise and flexible powder layer application. Complementing this, the OmniFamily includes the OmniForm 3D platform, which allows pixel-accurate, binder-free powder structuring within molds, followed by a high-temperature-supported sintering process—ideal for high build speeds and demanding materials. These solutions open new possibilities for complex geometries, customized designs, and functional material combinations in a single printing process, setting new standards in speed, accuracy, and design freedom, while accelerating innovation and production at an industrial scale.
